Message from the Dennis Beaches and Recreation
The Town of Dennis has reached a point where our recreation programs are being limited not by interest but by available space. When Wixon School closed, we lost a vital in-town gym that had long supported a wide range of activities. Since then, we’ve had to move adult programs like dodgeball and basketball to the DYIMS building in Yarmouth, where access is limited, and scheduling is far from ideal for our residents. In town, our only remaining gym space is at Ezra Baker Elementary School, which is now dedicated solely to pickleball. While that program continues to grow, the gym itself is outdated and undersized, and it’s stretched to its absolute limit.
As a result, we’ve been forced to scale back in ways that directly impact the community—youth sports opportunities have been reduced, and we simply cannot offer additional adult or youth fitness programs, leagues, or activities. The demand is there and continues to grow, but the space to meet it no longer exists. A dedicated community center would allow us to bring programs back into Dennis, expand what we can offer, and better
serve residents of all ages year-round. This isn’t about adding something new—it’s about restoring what we’ve lost and making sure our community has the resources it needs moving forward.

Every dollar stays right here in Dennis. We use funds to:
Educate Neighbors: Printing flyers and hosting informational sessions about the center's benefits.
Mobilize Voters: Ensuring our supporters show up at Town Meetings and the ballot box.
Advocate for Excellence: Keeping the vision of a diverse, modern, and accessible facility at the forefront of the town's agenda.on text goes here

Yes! While monetary support is vital, we also welcome "in-kind" contributions—such as professional services (printing, graphic design, legal advice) or physical items (event space, office supplies, or snacks for a neighborhood meeting).
Why it matters: Every service donated allows us to keep more of our funds focused on direct advocacy for the community center. If you have a skill or resource to share, please reach out!
-
Absolutely. Making a donation in the name of a loved one is a powerful way to honor their legacy while building something that will serve Dennis for generations to come.
A Lasting Legacy: If your loved one was a champion for Dennis kids, seniors, or local community spirit, a gift to the PAC ensures their values are represented in the fight for this new facility.
Acknowledgment: When you make your donation, simply include a note with the name of the person you are honoring. We would be privileged to acknowledge their legacy in our community outreach materials (with your permission).
